Total9ball was once again back at St Albans Raging Ball, Bingo and Sports Club on Saturday 5th of March for the second event of the Dynamic Billard Amateur Series 2017. 48 players were in attendance and this time it was a 10ball double elimination format used. Matches kicked of at 10am and by the standard of players in attendance this event really was going to take a top performance to take down.
Daniel Wells was in action early doors in this event and a 7v5 win against the dangerous Veso Papradanov was a great way to begin any tournament. Other wins in the first round came from Alex Colghan 7v5 over Krystoff Majowski, Mark Parker 7v5 Against Andrew Gregory and Chris Seville defeated Ben Bradley also by a 7v5 scoreline. Kellie Williamson nearly pulled of the shock of the opening round by taking an inform Paul Taylor to Hill-hill Unfortunately with nearly every player watching the game Kellie potted the 10ball but with the cue ball as well. Paul Taylor most of felt like he had used one of his nine lives. The shock was however unfolding on table 27 as Shakz Islam made the most of his handicap and held himself together to push Craig Osborne to the losers side of the event, 7 racks to three.
In the Winner Qualifier round 11 of the 16 matches ended 7v6 or 7v5 so id say the handicaps were pretty much bang on. Micheal Beeston took out Rich Fulwell 7v5 while Daniel Wells played a great set to beat Stefan Mesedzhiev of Bulgaria 7v4. Steve Chick defeated GJ Oyangoran 7v5 and Chris Seville took his chances well to beat Phil Wildman 7v6.
Into the Losers Qualifier Wayne Rooke got the better of Ben Bradley 7v4, Courtney Symons needs all racks to eliminate The Estimator Steve Davison 7v6 and Craig Osborne battled back the handicap deficit to knockout Lionel Brown 7v4. Mark Newell was a hill-hill winner against Danny Cheng and Rich Fulwell produced a great performance to oust Laszlo Zsom 7v4.

Just 16 superstars remaining and picking a winner was near on impossible as a handicap event should be. Daniel Wells elminated T9B’s very own Nick Hampton 7v4, Rikki Hatherley ended Phil Wildman’s event 7v6 (Wildman missed 10ball at Hill-Hill) The battle of the Mark’s between Mark Lester Inting and Mark Foster also ended 7v6 in favor of Foster. Craig Osborne and Courtney Symons were both sent packing by Micheal Beeston and Steve Della respectively.
Quarter Final time and all players were now guaranteed prize money and a good profit against there entry fee. Results below
Ricki Hatherley 3v7 Mark Hughes
Mark Foster 7v4 GJ Oyangoren
Steve Della 3v7 Daniel Wells
Michael Beeston 7v5 Shakz Islam
So the Semi Final lineup was complete, Mark Hughes was involed in a grueling 7v6 defeat at the hands of an on fire Mark Foster while Daniel Wells made short work of friend Michael Beeston 7v4.
Wells vs Foster a mouthwatering Final in prospect. Mark Foster who is there of there about in every event latterly against Daniel Wells who is finally getting to grips with 9ball/10ball and really starting to show his class. The matched looked over as Daniel raced into a 6v0 lead but Foster the fighter never gives up and reeled off the next 3 racks. Daniel Wells in the next rack applied the finish and that was all she wrote. Daniel Wells 7v3 Mark Foster.
